End of 30th Season Celebrations Across the Country

Our 30th expedition season flew by! While we’re wistful because it’s over, the last few weeks of End of Season Celebrations in Minneapolis, Boston, and Denver have seen us smiling because it happened.

Five students stand smiling in a park. Their Trip Instructor is embracing two of them.

A relaxed picnic atmosphere prevailed at the Minneapolis celebration. These students from the Banaadir Math and Science Academy reunited with their Trip Instructor at Lake Nokomis. Other volunteer mentors and trip instructors also came to reminisce about their paddling expeditions in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area.

The student in the foreground is belaying the student in the background, who is nearly to the top of an indoor rock wall.

In Boston, Brooklyn Boulders Somerville gave youth free climbing! Youth from Teen Empowerment, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Charlestown and Chelsea, and Squashbusters spent the evening scaling walls and swapping stories. These students camped and hiked Mount Monadnock on their summer overnight experiences. It was equally awesome to see them hyped about yet another outdoorsy activity.

In Denver, nearly 100 students, trip instructors, and volunteer mentors came together to celebrate their weeks in the Flat Tops, Raggeds, and Holy Cross Wilderness Areas at the REI Denver Flagship store. College Track Aurora, City LAX Denver, The ROAD, and Asian Pacific Development Center students participated in camp olympics, took pictures in the photo booth, and heard from alumni past and present.

You made these End of Season celebrations possible! Thank you for all you do!
