Seattle Brew & View Recap
On February 28th, BCM volunteers, sponsors, and supporters came together at the Filson Showroom in South Seattle for our annual BCM “Brew and View.” Led by Seattle-based members of our National Council, the event is a great way to connect more people to the work BCM is doing in the region, sample Seattle’s best microbrews, watch a few great adventure shorts, and win some pretty sweet gear packages.
This year we were grateful to have participation from Two Beers Brewing, Georgetown Brewing, and Seapine Brewing. They all brought a few of their best brews for the over 120 participants who turned out for the evening. The Filson Showroom also proved to be an awesome venue for the event. This was our first time there and Filson generously donated 20% of sales that night to BCM!
Stanley and Therm-a-Rest were amazing sponsors of the event as well! Stanley donated a beer-tasting mug to every attendee and Therm-a-Rest support was instrumental to the success of our raffle. Justus Hyatt (Therm-a-Rest) and Michelle Fleming (Stanley) are also incredible leaders for us in the region and the event was a success because of their stalwart planning and coordination.
Many other sponsors contributed gear and gift cards to the raffle. If you haven’t been to a BCM raffle the gear you could win is amazing! Definitely make a point to turn out next time. You could walk away with an awesome prize. This year we were lucky enough to get gear from Thule, UCO, Outdoor Research, KEEN, Osprey, and Dakine.
Lastly, we want to recognize Justin Welsh – a longtime volunteer and organizer of every Seattle Brew and View – and his company Unify Consulting. The company sponsored the food budget for the event and Justin easily recruited a number of his colleagues from Unify to volunteer and/or just turn out for the event. It was great to have so many of them there.
